Desktops

In desktop apps, users have access to and can use all the installed software using the module system. Currently, we offer two desktop flavors based on the SUSE and Ubuntu distributions.

SUSE 15.5

This app will launch an interactive SUSE 15.5 with XFCE4 desktop on one or more compute nodes. You will have full access to the resources these nodes provide. This is analogous to an interactive batch job plus a desktop. Users have access to the all installed softwares on the cluster. As an example, you can see below how the gnuplot module is loaded and used.

Ubuntu 22.04

Same as above but launches an interactive XFCE4 ubuntu 22.04.
